Overcoming the Initial Awkwardness of Domestic Discipline

Overcoming the initial awkwardness of Domestic Discipline can be difficult. After my wife spanked me, I felt embarrassment that I had been spanked by the woman I loved so deeply. Part of me still holding onto the thought of her and I being equals. Shifting my mindset to being my wife’s submissive took time.

A Domestic Discipline marriage was only possible due to the complete trust we both have in each other. It required massive vulnerability and a willingness to break away from traditional marriage roles.

When I am in trouble, in that moment I immediately transition from my wife’s romantic partner to her submissive. My wife goes from being my lover to my disciplinarian in an instant. The first few spankings were intense and very embarrassing, even humiliating at times.

I grew up being taught to “be a man” and project strength and to avoid showing vulnerability. Asking my wife to spank me when she is not happy with me threw all of that out the window. After decades of trying to be a strong leader it takes time to embrace the fact that I am not.

One thing she did to help with the awkwardness was make it a ritual when I get in trouble. She announces that a spanking was just earned, something like “Okay you are getting a spanking for that! Get upstairs and get your clothes off and wait for me”. That stops everyday life in its tracks and now it is spanking time.

In that moment I stop and remind myself that I chose this path. I chose to be a spanked husband. I trust her leadership and I trust her judgement. After the spanking is over, I stand up and my wife holds me. As we hug I am reminded of how wonderful my wife is and how much I love her. Even now, I still have awkward feelings at times, especially with eye contact after a particularly bad paddling.
